We had two options – head Downeast into the unknown or head back southwest to explore the islands we had missed in our rush to get to Bar Harbor. With our parents gone, we had a decision to make. It was Saturday, August 16, and we woke up on a mooring ball in Bar Harbor, Maine. Where will we go?!

After a fun few days together in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, Tom’s parents head home and Abby’s parents hop on the boat!

With Tom’s parents aboard Salty Foxx, we’re heading up the Maine Coast! From August 6^th to August 11^th, we cover a little bit over 130 nautical miles with a mix of coastal and offshore sailing.

This week, we’re in Cuttyhunk, Massachusetts, preparing to make the passage from Cuttyhunk, across Buzzards Bay, through the Cape Cod Canal, across Cape Cod Bay, and all the way to Provincetown at the tip of Cape Cod. And after that we head to Portland, ME!

Closing out Week 2 – Exploring the “Other” Sounds: Block Island Sound, Rhode Island Sound, and Vineyard Sound. Plus lobsters, and hotdogs, and pizza - oh my!
